1. How does it feel to be nominated two years in a row for best attorney?

Gratefulness and gratitude to my community.

2. What makes a good attorney?

Balancing your client's interest with honest advice and counsel. Often people hate hearing bad news, and as attorneys you have to deliver often brutal truths to people. Assisting people to navigate the legal process while also keeping an eye on relevant outside factors like cost, time and whether the results desired by the client are achievable are what makes for a a good attorney. Also being able to sell ice to eskimos helps.

3. Why are the Best of the Pine Belt awards important to our community?

It gives Hattiesburg an opportunity to celebrate itself, which it richly deserves. We have our own culture and heroes and those groups deserve to be honored.

4. What is your hope for Hattiesburg?

I believe that Hattiesburg is a special place, that is only going to improve. I am dedicated to working downtown and improving the core of Hattiesburg. I am proud of our downtown office and our presence in the community. The city certainly seems to be heading in the right direction to me. I hope for a even more revitalized core of downtown from Midtown to Downtown and love to see people moving back into the city.

5. What would you like to say to those who nominated you, and those who will vote for you on Feb. 14?

Thank you. I am was truly honored to receive the nomination the first time, and to have it again is even more surprising. I also want to say that I know the other attorneys that were listed and am glad to be listed in their company.
